Do you want to improve what you do? Are you interested in learning more about NGSS? Do you need NGSS-aligned lessons? Are you trying to combine Common Core with science? Are you seeking new phenomena, questions, and models to build into your science?

Attend our programs for science teachers!

Science in the River City (SIRC) occurs about once a month during the school year from 4:00-8:00pm at Sacramento State. You will attend a science workshop specific to your science content interests (K-2 science, 3-5 science, 6-12 earth science, 6-12 life science, 6-12 physical science) and have dinner with peers and a guest speaker. Attend SIRC to experience NGSS-aligned lessons to take back to your classroom.

Super SIRC NGSS Science Saturday occurs on one Saturday each May at Sacramento State. At this event, you will experience two different NGSS-aligned lessons to take back to your classroom, and you will also deepen your understanding of NGSS during two additional breakout sessions of your choosing.

The SASP Summer Institute occurs the 3rd week of June each year at Sacramento State. The 4-day institute is the best way to take a deep dive into NGSS, sense-making, and literacy. Each day you will attend a core session investigating an important aspect of NGSS, followed by a science lesson specific to your grade level (elementary, middle, high school), and a breakout session of your choosing.

Each program has new content each year to provide continuous professional learning. All workshops weave together research-based pedagogy with NGSS-aligned science content. All instructors are university faculty and/or experienced SASP teacher leaders.
